REDD WELCOMES: Gareth Whitmore, Senior Project Manager

We sit down with our newest Senior Project Manager, Gareth Whitmore, to find out what a typical day looks like in his new role, who inspires him most and what it’s like working for REDD, London.

What drew you to working for REDD?

I have been working in the city for 22 years, and I’ve always been drawn to roles that offer a challenge - for me, I want a role to teach me something new, I want to feel positively tested and I want to be surrounded by like-minded people - and this role offered all of that.

REDD has a fantastic collaborative outlook with both their teams and their consultants - they are continuously undertaking really exciting new projects and it’s a pleasure to now be part of the team.

Can you tell us more about your background?

I grew up in the beautiful South of Wales and studied Property Development at Portsmouth University before moving to London in 2000. I have since worked in consultancy and client-side environments, continuing to gain experience and develop a holistic approach to property development and delivery.

What inspired you to work in real estate?

Having the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving London skyline, coupled with my passion for property development inspired me to take this direction in my career.

Can you tell us more about your new role with REDD?

My role is to deliver existing and new opportunities for REDD from conception through to completion - it’s a diverse role where I am involved across multiple projects, meeting new people, working with various consultancy teams as well as working with the superb team here at REDD London.

What projects will you be working on?

At the moment, I’m working on projects One Palace Green and 6 Charles Street - both exciting new developments with their own unique challenges.

What does a typical day look like as a property manager for REDD?

Well, every day is never the same, which is of course part of the fun! But a typical day for me usually involves a mix of catching up with the team, heading out to visit the current sites, corresponding with the design team and meeting with clients and investors.

How would you describe working for REDD in three words?

Fast-paced, fun and rewarding
