REDD MEETS: Marians Nilender, Head of Property Management in Monaco

Fast-paced, client focused and surrounded by the best sights Monaco has to offer, here’s a look into a day in the life and career of Marians Nilender, Head of Property Management at our Monaco office.

How long have you worked for REDD?

I have been working for REDD at their Monaco office for five years. Prior to that, I was working within the hospitality industry in a similar role, and the transition was incredibly exciting.

What drew you to this industry/job role?

I have always thrived upon being under pressure in a hands-on role - I couldn’t ever see myself in a slow-paced environment - that’s just one of the many qualities that drew me to this role, where there are countless opportunities to get stuck in, work as part of a team and drive forward the progress of a project.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I start my morning with a coffee to get me focused. I then work my way through WhatsApp messages, emails and morning calls. I’ll then usually head out to meet with tenants to better understand their needs or propose solutions to any problems they might be having. I often have meetings with service providers to organise work on apartments or heading to a viewing with a prospective tenant. In the afternoon I try to get back to the office and catch up with my colleagues and ensure all projects are on track.

What is your favourite part of your job?

I pride myself on being a problem solver and working very well under pressure, because of this, I am often the go-to person for any issues and I like to work out how to overcome them in the quickest and most efficient way. So, I would say, my favourite part is the satisfaction of overcoming all these obstacles and challenges throughout the project, and then knowing that the customers are delighted with the results.

What is the most difficult part of your job?

Hand-in-hand with my favourite part of my role is that sometimes there are really tough challenges we have to overcome, and it quickly goes from being my favourite to a very challenging aspect. But, as long as we are able to solve it quickly, I’m a happy man again!

What are the values that drive your work?

Ensuring that all of our customers are satisfied and living the Monaco dream.

What’s it like working in Monaco?

It’s very different to anywhere else I have been - everywhere you go, whether for work or personal, it’s like being in a 5-star hotel all of the time. In short, it’s amazing and I really enjoy it.
