Introducing 6 Charles Street with Finn Simpson

REDD’s Senior Property Manager Finn Simpson joined the team in March this year from a super-prime rental agency in Knightsbridge, where he managed complex portfolios for UHNW clientele.

Skilled and experienced in the intricacies of high-value projects, Finn recently oversaw the completion of our prestigious new development at 6 Charles Street.

We spoke to Finn about his role at REDD, his background in luxury real estate, and what makes 6 Charles Street special.

1. Can you tell us more about the completion of 6 Charles Street and what that project entailed?

Charles Street has now been completed successfully and I’m excited to see it fully operational, ready to welcome our lucky new residents. The project encountered certain challenges and restrictions, particularly around what could be done with the space, which is often the case with period conversions. However, I believe this only adds to the charm and character of the finished product. What we have here are 12 unique, beautifully finished flats, each one telling a different story.

2. What are some of the key features that make 6 Charles Street special?

6 Charles Street offers a unique proposition for those looking for both a historically and culturally rich building, with historical ties to figures such as John Ruskin and Josiah Wedgwood, while also delivering brand new, beautifully designed bespoke finishes. It’s a rare find, further elevated by our exceptional concierge team. During the redevelopment, we intentionally preserved as many original character features as possible, to further showcase the building’s unique charm. I believe this is critical when redeveloping period properties such as Charles Street.

3. What is your background and what motivated you to pursue a career in real estate investment?

I have worked within the London real estate market for almost a decade, starting my career within sales and lettings. I quickly progressed to a portfolio management position where I worked with some of the capital’s most exclusive prime and super-prime properties. I specialised in Mayfair, Knightsbridge, and Kensington, ensuring properties were presented and managed to the highest possible standards. My move to the development and investment side was a natural evolution, allowing me to directly influence how we deliver a market-leading service from project inception through to post-occupancy management.

4. What is your role at REDD and what does a typical working day look like?

As Senior Property Manager at REDD, my role is multi-faceted. I look after a number of private clients’ residences, ensuring a seamless living experience for their occupants. REDD’s holistic approach allows us to adapt to our clients’ requirements in a truly unique way, leaving them with a single point of contact for all their property needs.

We manage all of our own developments, as well as third-party developments, so I also oversee the operation of these to ensure they continue to provide a market leading service.

5. If you had to give one piece of advice to someone starting a career in real estate, what would it be?

Push to get as much exposure as possible to how your wider business operates, rather than what is easily being offered up in front of you. If you want to grow and develop your skills, you need to be able to see where those opportunities are coming from next. If you know of a situation coming up, be it a new site tour, meeting with a new client or company or a valuation, ask to sit in, and more importantly, absorb what is taking place. You want to be able to add value wherever you go – that is what makes you an asset to any organisation. In order to do that, you need to push to develop your own knowledge and experience.

One Palace Green

6. Which of REDD’s forthcoming projects are you most looking forward to seeing completed?

One Palace Green stands to be one of the finest offerings to the super-prime market in quite some time, offering a richness of character, provenance, and exclusivity that many simply cannot compete with. The attention to detail in its finishes and interior design is something I am hugely excited to see come to fruition over the next couple of months.
